You’re used to seeing me at the track, where I’m busy all day long with coaching. My job doesn’t end when I get home from the track, though: there’s a lot to take care of between events, too.

Downtime between events provides a great opportunity to tackle a variety of tasks that I don’t get to do while on the road. Mainly, I’m still working with clients! Even though we’re away from the track, there is always work to be done, like debriefing from the previous event or prepping for the next one. We do that through phone calls or video chats, or even through simulator training.

Currently, I’m also working on a new coaching-related project that I’m really excited to share with all of you. Stay tuned for more on that in the next few weeks!

When I’m not at the track, I’m also busy prepping for my next races, not just studying video and previous years’ notes but also staying active in the gym. I also train outdoors during the summer months to get valuable heat training. (I’m even going so far as to compete in an upcoming Spartan race!)

Between the racing and the coaching, I’m on the road a lot, so making all of my travel plans is another task that I tackle between events.

And, of course, being at home means getting to spend time with my family before a busy round of weekends at the track.

This weekend will be an exciting one since I have coaching clients competing at various race tracks around the country. Once their racing is wrapped up for the weekend, we’ll be diving into the coaching between races. If you ever want to chat about what you should be doing between events, feel free to reach out and discuss how you can prep from home!
