This week got off to a fast start! I had a couple of great days at Virginia International Raceway with the Ingram Experience. It’s always wonderful to be at VIR this time of year, and we were lucky to have superb weather.

As usual, it was great to see the incredible collection of Porsches that owners brought to drive on track. I enjoyed getting to work with all of them, who are at various points in their driving experience. Some were getting on track at VIR for the first time ever, and the experience level ranged all the way up to advanced drivers.

Lots of beautiful machinery lining the pit lane!

It was exciting to check out all the updates that VIR continues to implement around the facility. There are new condos going in along the uphill esses, and there is lots of revamping happening in all the main buildings. There are plenty more updates scheduled for the rest of the year, too!

It was great to have so many special guests from Hendrick Porsche join us, as well.

Later this week, I’m off to Mid-Ohio for the next round of the MX-5 Cup championship. It will be my first time back to Mid-Ohio in a couple of years, since IMSA took a hiatus from that circuit in recent seasons.

The MX-5 series is in full tilt, with the season reaching its midpoint at Mid-Ohio, and there are a lot of new aspects that will be in play this weekend. Mid-Ohio has a new surface, having gotten a repave since the last time the series was there. We’re also heading into the event with a new points leader since the most recent race at Laguna Seca. And we can probably expect a new winner, too: we’ve had a different winner for every race this season.

There’s a lot of anticipation around the coming dual-race weekend for MX-5, and I’m excited to report back next week about the races and my return to Mid-Ohio.
