After another crazy hurricane that came through Florida, the weather cleared out for a beautiful weekend at Sebring International Raceway, which let us enjoy an Apex Events test weekend there.

The Apex team puts on an incredible test event, with open track for race teams and great catering for participants, as well. I joined JDX for the event, coaching their prospective drivers for the upcoming 2023 Carrera Cup Season.

This was a really fun opportunity for me to not only work within a new team, but also to work with new drivers. Both drivers are young, with one of them in his early 20s and the other even younger, at just 16 years old! The JDX team is a proven program as they are the current 2022 Carrera Cup champions. The team provides a solid platform for success for their drivers.

I enjoyed integrating with the team. The engineering staff and crew members were rewarding to work with, as were the drivers. They came up to speed very quickly, even with all the nuances that the 992 Cup car and Sebring present. I was very encouraged by the pace both drivers had, and I’m looking forward to watching their growth this coming season.
