It’s an exciting week ahead, with the IMSA finale—Petit LeMans—at Road Atlanta. This is always a favorite event of mine. Not only is it closer to home, but I absolutely love Road Atlanta and have been lucky enough to participate in this classic event many times before.
The weather looks beautiful, with fall-like temperatures in store, and I’m looking forward to all the racing action as the various IMSA series wrap up their seasons this week.
Prior to this week’s event, many teams tested at Road Atlanta. I enjoyed working with some teams preparing for the event, not only coaching but also doing some test driving to develop the car setup prior to the racing this week. We had a very productive test event, and I’m excited to see all that effort pay off as success for those teams this week.

I’ll be acting in my traditional role as the driver advisor for the Mazda MX-5 Cup series. With many things on the line, including the $250,000 championship as well as a very tight $80,000 Rookie of the Year battle, I’m excited to see it all unfold. As we’ve witnessed in years past, it often comes down to the last lap and even the final corners of the race.
I’m also reminiscing about having run the Michelin Pilot Challenge race at Petit LeMans last year, and I’m looking forward to being back in the series in 2026. I’ll have a full Petit LeMans report next week, before I head to Indy for the SRO season finale.
