Happy New Year! It’s incredible to think that it’s already January and the start of a new race season. I’ve been fortunate to be staying busy over the winter (I won’t call it an off-season!) with testing events and other extracurricular activities that have kept me motivated, like running a marathon.

Now, I’m focused on the season ahead since it’s just around the corner. In two weeks, we’ll be at Daytona International Speedway for the iconic Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona. I’m excited to be involved with various programs at Daytona, including my first event of the year with the Mazda MX-5 Cup series. I’ll be working with their 2024 scholarship winners as they navigate their first full season in professional racing.

I’ll also be bringing my helmet along to compete in the inaugural IMSA Classic, which will happen during the Rolex 24 event week. I’ll be driving the Mazda Motorsports RX-7 from the 1991 GTO era.

This year, I’m looking forward to continuing my working relationships with many clients in SRO, Sprint Challenge, and various other GT series. It’s exciting to be a part of these drivers’ upcoming seasons as we prepare both on and off the track to get ready for the series openers.

One new tool that I’m excited to utilize while coaching this coming year is built by GPX, and it allows in-car video streaming to happen live. That livestream allows me, as a coach, to watch and give live feedback to the driver. This is an incredible tool that not only enables me to “be there” with the driver, but it also does it with a low latency, so it’s virtually in real-time.

I’ll have more to report prior to Daytona, and if you’re attending, I look forward to seeing you there!
