I’m just wrapping up a long weekend at Virginia International Raceway with the SRO World Challenge event. There were plenty of curveballs with the weather, which had mixed conditions for a lot of the races, and other unexpected challenges.

Our Supra GT4 program got off to a great start, when the team qualified second for race one in that unpredictable weather. The team also found themselves in an exciting spot in race two, fighting for the podium in the closing laps of the race.

Despite not getting that step on the podium, it was an encouraging weekend of growth for the team. The next race is at Road America next month, and I’m looking forward to seeing the team capitalize on all that potential!

For the RVA Graphics Motorsports team, it was a whirlwind of musical chairs! The team owner’s incredible progress over the practice days gave us high hopes for the weekend, but he unfortunately got ill just in time for race day. That meant veteran driver Farran Davis had to substitute at the last minute, and he had such an exciting race.

Farran started 33rd on the grid, but he moved all the way up to 20th during the 45-minute contest. It was his first time in the car all weekend, making it an especially impressive performance and one that saw him come one position shy of taking home the Hard Charger award. Luckily, he already has a few of those at home from previous races!

The race results don’t reflect how much both teams accomplished this weekend. Great qualifying, fighting for a top spot, and being able to execute a great race despite an unexpected setback are all things to celebrate. I’m excited to continue pushing forward as the race season gets into its back half, and our eyes are now set on the final rounds of the season.
