I am right in the middle of a whirlwind week! I just got back from Laguna Seca in gorgeous Monterey, California, where I was working with the Mazda MX-5 Cup Series. What a terrific couple of races we had. We saw the close finishes that we’ve come to expect in MX-5 Cup racing along with a first-time winner.

This coming week will continue to be busy. Next up, I’m heading to Virginia International Raceway for a test with the Apex Group in preparation for the upcoming Porsche Sprint Challenge races. At least that stop is my home track, so it’s not too far for me to travel!

From there, I’ll hop on a plane to Circuit of the Americas outside Austin, Texas, for the next round of the SRO World Challenge Series. I’ll be working with two different teams there. Both teams are coming off strong results from the previous event, so everyone is looking forward to keeping the momentum going. Most of the drivers haven’t been to COTA before, so it will be quite exciting helping them all get acclimated.

I’ll have a full report about that event next week. Before that, though, I’ll be heading up to Watkins Glen in upstate New York for the first time this season. I’m coaching at another Apex Group test with the JDX Carrera Cup team, since Watkins Glen is the next event on the calendar for the series, when they visit with IMSA next month.

One thing is guaranteed: it will be a busy couple of weeks and a fun one, at that! I’m looking forward to all the challenges between the various teams, drivers, cars, and circuits!
